Dear Parents,

Thank you and Congratulations for investing in "The Parents’ Success Kit" - the first step to "knowing yourself", having more peace in your life, and learning the skills that will help you have better lives with your children.

But - where to begin?

You can begin anywhere within the kit to start experiencing "parent success". You might decide to start with the Family Talk reports. With the "10 minutes to greater success", you will learn more about "how you do what you do" and how that affects your relationships with your children. Each Kit includes two computer generated Parent Family Talk reports. The instructions for completing this on-line assessment are in the folder in the Kit.

Next you can start reading the Coaching Guide for Better Parents and Stronger Kids. Parenting is always a personal story so make this book your own by answering the questions and writing comments on the pages. Mark the pages that you think you will use the most. Let this book become your handy reference guide. The ideas and suggestions in this book are practical and really do work. They come from hundreds of parents that I have worked with and from what I have learned raising my own children.

The Family Success Journal will keep track of your family’s meetings, accomplishments and responsibilities. There are 52 pages, one for each week of the year. Remember - you can do more than write. Be creative. Add pictures. Let the children draw on the pages. Keep notes of what you do each week. Leave notes for each other. Time has a way of vanishing – keep your memories here.

And -- Ahhh!! Take a deep breath – Relax with the Coaching Guide for Relaxation and Meditation.. Just pop the tape into the tape player and start breathing your way to peace and relaxation. Play the tape with the children, follow the scripts and have relaxation become a way of life. Read the booklet – it’s the same as the tape. Carry the booklet with you – it’s designed to fit in your pocket or purse – have it with you whenever a S-t-r-r-r-e-s-s-s Situation arises.

The Talking Tile is just what you’ll need when it’s time to talk about the tough stuff. (But, remember, practice when it’s easy!) The instructions start on page 155 of the Coaching Guide for Parents. These simple guidelines help "even the playing field" so even the smallest and youngest in the family can get into the act of talking and listening. Keep The Talking Tile in a handy place so it’s always within easy reach.

Finally – Experience does count!! What if we could learn from the mistakes and successes that others have made? Well, we can. Set aside 10 minutes for your mother and father or grandparent or another older person you admire. Interview them using the "Timeless Wisdom" Questionnaire as your guide.
